The Mundwiler Farm at Ortonville

The H. E. Mundwiler farm is located in the township of Ortonville in Big Stone County, Minnesota, on land acquired by Great Grandfather Harry Edward Mundwiler in the early 1900's.

According to Ortonville History, the village was established in 1876 and was the location of a Hastings and Dakota Railroad station.

The farm was located in Township 122 on the western shore of Mundwiler Lake. The property outline is recognizable in a satellite image.

In a 1920 classified ad in the Ortonville Independent, Harry lists a Holstein bull calf for sale. The 1922 Holstein-Friesian Herd Book lists Harry as the owner of a registered Holstein bull.
